The Anatomy of Quality Bunk Beds

Bunk beds are a great way to make the most out of a small children’s room. Start with a hardwood for the construction of the bunk bed. In this case it’s birch.

Barrel BoltsBracket Supports

The bedrails have support brackets on ends so barrel bolts rest on metal, not wood.

Steel Pins

Include steel pins for attaching the top bed to the bottom bed for maximum stability.

Slat Roll

Include a slat roll that acts as a box spring and therefore eliminates the need for a box spring. The slat roll has canvas stretchers and features 2 screws per slat.

Bunk Bed

Guard rails and ladders are screwed or bolted to bed rails or bed ends and the bunk bed can be turned into 2 twin beds. The bunk bed also accepts the optional trundle.

Our bunk bed collections meet or exceed CPSC and ASTM standards.
